Fall 2007 Price List

Gouldian Mutations
(Purple / White means Purple split to White Breast)
(Normal / Blue-back means Normal split to Blue-back)
During the last four years I have received few requests for white breasted, normal gouldians. I’m not sure if this is because many clients do not know of their existence or because of the 20% premium placed on them. Since I think that many of the normal color variations are striking with the white breast, this year, while they last, I am going to offer the white breasted and purple split to white breasted birds for the same price as the purple breasted normals.
White Breast: Recessive Trait
WB x WB = 100% WB (not recommended)
  WB x Split to WB = 50% WB, 50% Purple/White Breast
  Purple/White x Purple/White = 25% WB, 25% Purple Breast & 50% Purple/White Breast

NORMALS: Green-back, Purple Breast with Black, Red or Orange Head
Purple, Purple/Split to White or White Breasts
males
females
pairs
$125 each
$150 each
$200
YELLOW-BACK: Co-dominant Mutation. Green back of the Normal is replaced by yellow.
Head colors are Red, Orange and Black. (Black head in a yellow-back is beige or gray).
Yellow (Double Factor Cock) x Normal Hen = 100% Dilute cocks, yellow-back hens and Single Factor Yellow-back cocks
Yellow x Yellow = (Only recommended if cock bird is not Double Factor) 25% Double Factor cocks, 25% Dilute & Single Factor cocks, 25% Normal hens, 25% Yellow hens
Yellow (SF cock or hen) x Normal = 50% Normal cocks and hens, 50% Yellow-back hens, Dilute cocks or Yellow-back SF cocks

DILUTE-BACK: Belongs to Yellow-back Mutation. Males Only: Sex linked CO-dominant. Pastel Green back with Purple Breast or Split to White Breast only; Red, Orange and Black Heads (black appears gray). I pair Dilutes with other mutations to produce a large, hardier bird.
Dilute x Normal Hen = same as Yellow x Normal above
Dilute x Yellow Hen = same as Yellow x Yellow above

Purple Breast$200 each
Purple / White Breast$200 each

Orange or Black Head
Purple Breast$250 each

BLUE BACK: Recessive Trait: Normal and Yellow-back Gouldians can be split for Blue-back. Green back of the Normal is replaced by a teal blue in the Hens. Cocks have turquoise blue starting behind the head mask, turning into teal blue further down the back. Yellow and red pigment is not present in the Blue-back. Thus, the abdomen becomes a creamy white and the Red and Orange head become a Straw or Carmel color. Black Heads remain black. Blue-backs can have either Purple or White Breasts.
Blue-back x Blue-back (I NEVER recommend this pairing)
Blue-back x Normal/Blue-back = 50% Blue-back, 50% Normal/Blue-back
Normal/Blue-back x Normal/Blue-back = 25% Normal, 50% Normal/Blue-back, 25% Blue-back
Blue-back x Yellow-back/Blue-back = 50% Blue-back, 50% Yellow-back or Dilute/Blue-back
Yellow-back/Blue-back x Yellow-back/Blue-back = 25% Yellow-back, 50% Yellow-back/Blue-back, 25% Blue-back

The head colors are the same as the other Blue-backs, Straw and Black. In this mutation Black is Gray as in the Dilute Yellow-back mutation. Breast color is always Purple but can be split to White Breast.

"..the beautiful, healthy and very active birds arrived in great shape. I thank you for choosing such great birds to send and for taking such good are of them. I am sure they will thrive here too and produce many little ones. Please put me on the Wait List for next year!"
Larry Mathers

"..your birds are great, reliable parents! I have never had Gouldians breed so abundantly before!"
Melyssa Cowles – CA

"..the female I bought from you is ecstatically happy and healthy and so is my singer male. They are inseparable."
Thank You again - Lynn White
When buying a bird, I recommend you get to know the breeder for many reasons. One reason is the environment the bird was raised in. Was it clean and disease free or overcrowded and unkempt? Another reason is to know the parentage of each bird. I know the lineage of each bird I breed and sell so there is no inbreeding. Be cautious of those selling "proven" pairs. Many breeders cull out their unwanted, old, under-productive or worn-out birds. So buy a young bird and save yourself lots of heartaches.

SHIPPING PROCEDURES:
I take pride in the caliber of my birds and would never knowingly sell or ship an ill or defective bird. Although I outwardly check each bird before shipping, I cannot be held responsible for any avian condition or disease which cannot be visibly detected.

I believe that my customers will be pleased with the exceptional quality of my birds. If, however, you are dissatisfied, I must be notified within 24 hours after you receive your bird(s). I suggest that an appointment be pre-set with an avian vet for the day the birds are to arrive in case you are not happy with their condition upon arrival. The purchase price of the bird(s) will be refunded upon return of the birds, but any and all other costs are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
